We’re incredibly excited to officially introduce the very first Team JoinTheRun.
When we launched applications, we hoped to find a handful of runners who shared our passion for the running community. What we didn’t expect was the overwhelming response we received from runners across the UK, each with their own inspiring story, achievements and reasons for wanting to be part of the team.
After carefully reviewing every application, we’ve selected six runners who represent everything JoinTheRun stands for: community, inclusivity, passion and a genuine love for running.
Meet the Team
Lisa Quinn – Swindon
Lisa’s running journey is one of determination and resilience. After losing nearly seven stone, she rediscovered her love for running and has since completed the London Marathon. She loves sharing the reality of training, race days and the occasional challenge along the way, making her a fantastic role model for runners of all abilities.
Carl Jones – Rhyl, North Wales
Carl started running to improve his mental health and quickly discovered a passion for racing. From local events to the London Marathon, he believes running is for everyone, regardless of pace or experience. We’re excited to have Carl representing JoinTheRun across North Wales and beyond.
Laura Barlow – Derby
Laura is passionate about bringing people together through running. Alongside taking part in races herself, she runs her own local running club and enjoys creating engaging race-day content. Her enthusiasm for community perfectly reflects what JoinTheRun is all about.
Becky Rowlands – Anglesey
Becky’s progress over the past year has been incredible, improving from a 35-minute 5K to a personal best of 23:45. With an exciting race calendar ahead, including the Manchester Marathon, we’re looking forward to following her journey and celebrating every milestone.
Rob Sillito – Stoke-on-Trent
Rob has built an impressive running CV, completing everything from local races to the London Marathon and even a 50K ultra marathon. His experience across a variety of events will provide valuable race insights and honest reviews for the JoinTheRun community.
Emma Leese – Stoke-on-Trent
Emma only started running recently, but she’s already preparing for her first 10K and the Manchester Half Marathon. Her journey is a reminder that every runner starts somewhere, and we’re excited to support her as she continues to grow in confidence and achieve new goals.
What is Team JoinTheRun?
Team JoinTheRun is a new initiative designed to bring the UK running community even closer together.
Our runners will be attending races across the country, sharing their training, creating race-day content, writing honest event reviews and inspiring others through their own running journeys.
Whether it’s a local 5K, a challenging trail race or a major marathon, Team JoinTheRun will be there to showcase the incredible events and people that make the UK running community so special.

This Is Just the Beginning
This is the first chapter for Team JoinTheRun, and we couldn’t be more excited about what’s ahead.
Over the coming months, you’ll see our runners sharing race experiences, training updates, event reviews and plenty of behind-the-scenes content from races across the UK.
We’d also like to say a huge thank you to everyone who applied. The quality of applications was exceptional, and while we could only select six runners for our founding team, there will be more opportunities to join Team JoinTheRun in the future.
Be sure to follow our social media channels and keep an eye on the website as we support our team throughout the year.
Here’s to an exciting new chapter for JoinTheRun and the amazing running community we’re building together.
