  • Ensure safety first – obey local rules, traffic lights, and personal limits.
  • Submissions will be verified; false entries may be disqualified.

Terms & Conditions

By participating, you agree to:

  • Participate at your own risk.
  • Not hold the organisers responsible for any injury or incident during your run.
  • Allow your name and results to be used for event announcements, rankings, and social media highlights.
  • Follow local guidelines and public safety rules while completing your run.

1. Event Overview

The JoinTheRun 10K Weekend is a UK-only, virtual running event taking place over the May Bank Holiday weekend (Saturday–Monday).

Participants complete a single 10 kilometre run at a time and location of their choosing within the event window and submit proof of completion in accordance with these Terms & Conditions.

This is a virtual, unsupervised event. JoinTheRun does not organise, manage or supervise any physical routes.

2. Eligibility

  • Participants must be aged 16 or over on the event weekend.
  • Participants must be resident in the United Kingdom.
  • Entries are personal and non-transferable.
  • JoinTheRun reserves the right to refuse or cancel an entry if eligibility requirements are not met.

3. Participation & Personal Responsibility

Participation in the event is entirely at the participant’s own risk.

By entering the event, you confirm that:

  • You are physically fit and medically able to complete a 10K run.
  • You accept full responsibility for your own safety before, during and after your run.
  • You will choose a route and conditions that are safe and appropriate for you.
  • You understand that JoinTheRun does not provide medical support, route supervision, marshals, or safety cover.

No insurance is provided by JoinTheRun.
Participants are responsible for arranging their own insurance if they consider it necessary.

JoinTheRun accepts no liability for injury, illness, loss, damage or death arising from participation in the event, except where liability cannot be excluded by law.

4. Event Window

  • Runs must be completed between Saturday and Monday of the May Bank Holiday weekend.
  • Runs completed outside the official event window will not be eligible for a finisher medal.
  • The event window will be clearly stated on the event page and attendee information.

5. Proof of Completion

To qualify as a finisher, participants must submit clear proof showing:

  • A run of 10.00 kilometres or more
  • The date of the run
  • That the activity was a single continuous run

Accepted proof includes:

  • A screenshot from a running app or GPS watch
  • A public activity link (where available)

JoinTheRun reserves the right to reject submissions where proof is unclear, incomplete, or does not meet event requirements.

6. Medals & Postage

  • Finisher medals will be posted after the event, once submissions have been checked.
  • Medals are posted to the UK address provided at checkout.
  • It is the participant’s responsibility to ensure their postal details are correct.
  • JoinTheRun is not responsible for delays or losses caused by postal services.
  • Replacement medals may be offered at the participant’s cost.

7. Entry Fees & Refunds

  • Entry fees are used to cover event costs including medals, postage, platform fees and administration.
  • Entries are non-refundable once ticket sales have closed.
  • If the event is cancelled due to circumstances beyond JoinTheRun’s control, JoinTheRun will aim to provide a reasonable alternative where possible but is not obliged to issue refunds.

8. Conduct

Participants agree to:

  • Act responsibly and lawfully while taking part
  • Respect other runners, pedestrians and road users
  • Follow local laws, highway rules and access permissions

JoinTheRun reserves the right to disqualify participants who behave irresponsibly or dishonestly.

9. Data Protection

JoinTheRun will collect and use participant data solely to administer the event.

  • Data collected may include name, email address, postal address and proof of run submission.
  • Personal data will not be shared with sponsors or third parties.
  • Postal data will be deleted once medals have been dispatched.

10. Photography & Content

By participating, you grant JoinTheRun permission to:

  • Share publicly tagged content related to the event
  • Feature anonymised or credited participant content for community promotion

11. Changes to the Event

JoinTheRun reserves the right to:

  • Amend event details if necessary
  • Update these Terms & Conditions
  • Cancel the event if required due to circumstances beyond reasonable control

Any significant changes will be communicated via the event page or email.

12. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
