If you’re looking to inject something completely different into the London social and running scene, MindGames is a club that’s doing just that. Combining strategy, teamwork, and running, it’s where brains and legs get an equally good workout.
About the Club
MindGames is always based in London Zone 1 and 2, making it easy for central Londoners to join in. The club meets fortnightly on Wednesdays, with flexible start times between 6:30 and 7:30pm. Pubs or informal meet up locations are the usual gathering points, perfect for a pre-run briefing and a post-run catch-up.
Who Can Join & Distances
MindGames caters to a wide range of participants:
- Walkers: usually 3–4km
- Joggers/medium runners: 6–10km
- Competitive runners: anything beyond 10km
Essentially, your pace is up to you, making it inclusive for beginners while still challenging for experienced players.
Atmosphere & Club Culture
The vibe is social, welcoming, and addictive. Even if the rules feel a little tricky at your first event, the games quickly draw people back for more. It’s a mix of friendly competition and collaboration, ideal for those who love both running and puzzles.

Highlights & Achievements
Though still a young club with only six events so far, excitement is building: the final run of their first series on Wednesday 11th March at the Morpeth Arms, Millbank, will crown their very first series champions, a milestone that already has the community buzzing.
Why Join MindGames?
MindGames is totally unique. There’s nothing else in London that offers a workout for both your brain and body while fostering a social, collaborative, and competitive environment.
Additional & Upcoming Events
The club also runs bespoke events for work teams, socials, and groups, plus plans for family-friendly summer games and an “elite” event for the uber-competitive after the third series.
Upcoming MindGames events:
- Deep Blue – Surrey Quays, 25th March
- Tower Escape – Pimlico, 8th April
- Snakes and Ladders – Hyde Park, 22nd April
- Scrabble+ – Primrose Hill, 6th May

If you’re an organiser looking for inspiration, MindGames shows how combining social, competitive, and creative elements can create a loyal, engaged community.
