The Edinburgh 5K Race – The Meadows (also known as the Monthly Blast 5K Series at The Meadows) is a friendly, lunchtime 5 km road/run-walk event held in the heart of Edinburgh’s parkland. Organised by Blast Running, the race is open to runners of all abilities – from club athletes to beginners and youth aged 11+ – and takes place on a flat, fast measured course.

Race Description
This mid-week 5K offers a quick but official, chip-timed opportunity to test speed or enjoy running in a sociable format. The route is officially measured and licensed, and results contribute to Run Britain Rankings. It’s designed to cater to a wide range of runners—those chasing a PB, improving pace, or simply jogging/walking for fitness. Prizes are awarded in age categories.

Additional Information
Entry Fee: Approx £7 for members / £9 for non-members (plus insurance levy for Non Scottish Athletics members)
Age Requirement: Minimum age 11 years for juniors; open to all otherwise.
Registration on day begins at ~12:00-12:30 pm for the 12:45 pm race start.Â
Charitable Contribution: The event supports local causes, with £1 per runner donated monthly.
