Hey everyone — Jack here!
As we reach the end of the year, I wanted to share a transparent update on JoinTheRun’s progress since launching in September, and a look ahead to how we’re evolving in 2026.
When JoinTheRun started, it was just a simple idea:
Help UK runners find events and clubs easily — with zero barriers, no paywalls, and a community-first mindset.
In a few short months, it’s become bigger than I ever imagined.
Our Growth Since Launch (Sept → Dec)
Community-led. 100% volunteer-built.
- Website traffic: 2,000
- Social followers: 800
- Events published: 60
- Run clubs listed: 30
- New visitors every month: growing consistently
- Volunteer team: small but mighty — adding new events weekly
This growth tells me one thing: people want a free, simple, community-built place for runners.
Why We’re Adapting for 2026
As JoinTheRun has grown, so has its purpose.
What started as a directory is quickly becoming a community movement, and our brand, features, and strategy need to evolve to reflect that.
We’ve realised runners aren’t just looking for events.
They’re looking for:
- connection
- advice
- local community
- support
- motivation
- and opportunities to grow
So in 2026, we’re building JoinTheRun to serve all sides of the running world, not just event discovery.
What’s Coming in 2026 (A First Look)
Here’s a preview of the new direction we’re moving in:
A Fresh Brand Identity
Our current branding has served us well, but JoinTheRun is ready for something that feels:
✔ modern
✔ energetic
✔ community-led
✔ recognisable
✔ rooted in movement
We’ll be introducing a new look and tone that reflects our mission: run together, grow together.
The JoinTheRun Ambassador Network
A grassroots nationwide community of:
- everyday runners
- club captains
- charity runners
- local leaders
- new runners with inspiring stories
Not influencers for exposure, runners for impact. People who embody what JoinTheRun stands for.
Support for Local Events & Run Clubs
In 2026, we’ll shift even more focus toward:
- small community races
- club-organised events
- local charity runs
- trail events
- beginners’ groups
These events are the heartbeat of UK running, and they deserve visibility.
Training, Coaching & PT Partnerships
We’ll begin collaborating with:
- local PTs
- UKA coaches
- physiotherapists
- nutrition specialists
- mental health advocates
To provide:
- free tips
- beginner-friendly advice
- accessible training plans
- expert-led features
This will turn JoinTheRun into a genuinely supportive platform for every level of runner.
Community-Led Challenges
We’ve had a few ideas, but expect more:
- monthly motivators
- charity challenges
- club competitions
- fun community events
Designed to bring runners together.
And Finally – Thank You
JoinTheRun is still small, still volunteer-led, and still completely free, but already making a real impact. And that’s because of you.
Every follow, every shared event, every DM, every run club submission… it’s all building something special.
If you want to support the mission in 2026, even with 1 hour a month – we’d love to have you involved. Just drop us a message.
Here’s to a huge 2026.
Here’s to community, connection, and running without barriers.
And here’s to everyone who’s joined the run so far.
