The JoinTheRun 10K Weekend is getting festive!

Join us for our Christmas Edition, taking place from Saturday 26th to Monday 28th December, giving you three days to complete your 10K, whenever and wherever it suits you.

No start lines. No pressure. No cut-offs.
Just a shared Christmas challenge you can complete anywhere in the UK over the festive weekend.

Run it steady. Run it hard. Run it in your Santa hat.
Run it for yourself.

  • Who: UK residents aged 16+
  • How: Complete your 10K during the event window and upload it to Strava

Important: Entries close on 20th December

To give us enough time to pack and post your Christmas goodies, entries will close at midnight on Sunday 20th December. This helps ensure your Santa hat arrives in time for the run weekend.

How it works

  1. Sign up via JoinTheRun before 20th December
  2. Join the JoinTheRun Strava Club
  3. Complete a single 10K run anywhere in the UK between 26th–28th December
  4. Put on your Santa hat and get running!
  5. Upload your run to Strava – your activity must be public
  6. Submit your run via the completion form
  7. Your Christmas medal and thank-you card will be posted after the event

Proof of completion

To qualify as a finisher, participants must:

  • Complete a single 10K run during the event window
  • Upload the activity to Strava
  • Ensure the activity is public
  • Submit your run via the completion form

This is a participation-focused event. There are no official rankings or results tables.

What is the JoinTheRun 10K Weekend?

The JoinTheRun 10K Weekend is a UK-only virtual running event. Participants complete a 10K run anywhere in the UK during the event window and submit proof of completion to receive a finisher medal.

When does the event take place?

The event runs from Saturday to Monday over the Christmas weekend. You can complete your 10K at any time during this three-day window.

Where does the run take place?

Anywhere in the UK. You choose your own route and run independently.

Who can take part?

The event is open to UK residents aged 16 or over. You do not need to be part of a running club to enter.

Is this a race?

No. This is a participation-focused event, not a competitive race. There are no official timings, rankings or results tables.

How much does it cost to enter?

Standard Entry: £12 Entry includes a finisher medal, thank-you card and UK postage.

What does my entry include?

How do I track my run?

You can use any running app or GPS device to track your run. You do not need to use Strava.

What counts as valid proof of completion?

We need clear proof that: You completed at least 10.00km The run was completed during the event weekend The date and distance are visible It was one continuous run Proof can be a screenshot from your running app or GPS watch, or a public activity link.

Do treadmill runs count?

Treadmill runs are accepted only if the distance and date are clearly visible in the submitted proof.

How do I submit my run?

After completing your run, you’ll be directed to submit proof via the attendee page. This will be linked to you after checkout and in your confirmation email.

When will medals be posted?

Medals will be posted after the event weekend, once runs have been checked. Dispatch begins from the Tuesday following the event.

What if I can’t complete my run during the weekend?

Runs completed outside the official event window are not eligible for a finisher medal.

Can I transfer my entry to someone else?

Entries are non-transferable.

Are refunds available?

As this event includes custom medal production, entries are non-refundable once ticket sales close.

Why does JoinTheRun run paid events if it’s free to use?

JoinTheRun will always be free to use for runners and organisers. Entry fees for this event are used solely to cover event costs such as medals, postage, platform fees and insurance, and to support the ongoing JoinTheRun project.
