CancerCare’s Cross Bay Half-Marathon
The Cross-Bay Half-Marathon is a unique tidal running challenge taking place across the sands of Morecambe Bay in Cumbria, and is organised to raise funds for CancerCare. It’s believed to be the only half marathon in the world that crosses a tidal bay, offering a bucket-list experience for runners ready to take on an extraordinary 13.1-mile (half marathon) route guided by expert local Guide to the Sands leaders.

Race Description
This spectacular event sends runners across the sands of Morecambe Bay, following a route laid out by local guides who understand the tides, channels and timing of this ever-changing environment. Participants must obey safety briefings and tide schedules before taking on the bay crossing — a truly memorable and unusual running experience. The event supports CancerCare’s work helping local people affected by cancer and bereavement, combining a physical challenge with meaningful fundraising.
