DESCRIPTION:The Taunton Half Marathon & Kids Kilometre Fun Run marks the 40
 th edition of this much-loved Somerset road race. Organised by Active South
  West Ltd\, the event offers a flat\, scenic half marathon through the hear
 t of Taunton\, followed by a fun mini run for kids. With a new town-centre 
 start and finish\, closed roads\, and a festival atmosphere\, it’s built 
 to appeal to runners of all abilities and families alike.\nKey Details\n\n\
 nDate & Time - Sunday\, 28 February 2027 — Half Marathon starts at 10:00 
 AM\; Kids Kilometre begins at 10:15 AM\n\n\nLocation - Taunton Town Centre\
 , Somerset — both the Half Marathon and Kids Fun Run use the same start/f
 inish lines on North Street\, finishing in view of the County Market House 
 landmark. \n\n\nEvent Types - Road Half Marathon (13.1 miles / ~21.1 km) p
 lus a 1 km fun run for children (Kids Kilometre)\n\n\nOrganiser - Active So
 uth West Ltd\, supported by the local running community and volunteers.\n\n
 \nRace Description\nRunners will experience a well-supported road course th
 rough Taunton\, beginning in the town centre and finishing with a town-cent
 re flourish. The town centre is pedestrianised/closed for the event to ensu
 re safety. The Kids Kilometre uses the same finishing stretch to give young
 sters the excitement of the main race’s atmosphere. Spectators line the s
 treets\, especially as runners head to the finish on North Street in front 
 of the Market House.\nWhat’s Included\n\n\nFinisher’s medal for all par
 ticipants\, including a special “40th edition” medal\n\n\nChip timing f
 or the Half Marathon\n\n\nMile markers\, water / aid stations along the cou
 rse\n\n\nA substantial event village with spectator friendly finish line\, 
 trophies / awards in age categories\, prize structure etc.\n\n\nAdditional 
 Information\n\n\nCut-off Time for Half Marathon: 4 hours (finish by ~14:00)

 Marathon. Kids Kilometre is open to younger runners (age bracket approx 8-1
 7)\n\n\nRoad Closures & Safety: Roads in town centre closed to traffic\; st
